Birchbox. Yay or Nay?

The day has finally come. I got my first Birchbox. As soon as I saw my tracking info this morning and knew this little gem was in town, and would be delivered today I was stoked! Once I had that box in my hands I gathered my supplies; A knife and a camera. I cut my box open and dun dun dunnnnnn......I had received the wrong march Birchbox. The horror! You see, last month I was given a choice via an email from Birchbox between a Teen Vogue March box or a regular one. I opted for the Teen Vogue one and once I saw the blog posts start popping up about the Teen Vogue edition I knew I had made the right decision. Just a few of the goodies were: a full size Essie "luxe" nail polish, a full size Tarte lipsurgence lip tint and a twistband hair tie. :( I did contact Birchbox and hopefully I will get the box I realllyyyy want. I will update about that when I hear back from them. Anyways, once the initial shock wore off I was able to enjoy and appreciate my first box after all. So what did I get? Here we go....

Color Club Nail Lacquer in: Age of Aquarius

Harvey Prince: Yogini perfume sampler

Juice Beauty: Organic Blemish Clearing Cleanser

Lulu Organics: Lavender + Clary Sage Hair Powder

Stila: Smoky Eye Card

Tea Forte: Skin-Smart Teas

The nail polish is super cute and green, my favorite color! It's a retro 60's looking green. I already have it on.

The perfume sample is nice but honestly not really my style, but hey i'll keep it in my purse or car in case I am ever in the need of some smell good.

I really love the cleanser, I took my make up off with it just a few minutes ago and my face feels really clean and soft. I might actually buy that product in a full size.

The hair powder seems really cool. It's just like a dry shampoo and I think I will keep that one for emergencies too!

The Smoky Eye card is a one time use type thing and I actually have colors very similar to whats on the card, I do love Stila products though.

On to the teas, I got three in a pack and they come in "Cherry Marzipan" "Honey Yuzu" and " Cucumber Mint" They claim to repair and beautify your skin from the inside out. I just had the cherry one and me likey!

So to answer the question: Yay or Nay?
I definitely say a big fat YAY.
I think it's a great concept and what beauty loving girl would not love a pink box filled with goodies dropped off every month? Sign up and join in the fun! $10 a month get's you a box like above, every month.

I would like to take the last few lines of this blog post and dedicate them to my iPad. Time and time again I risk it's life by using it in the bathtub, like how I just used it to edit this blog while sitting in the tub. I love you iPad!

You've got mail!

Love it when the doorbell rings and I know it's the U.P.S man dropping off something for me! So here are my latest Shoedazzle scores.

Shoe: Agata in Cobalt
Bag: Axtell in Orange.

I am pretty obsessed with both of these. The blue color on those shoes is so pretty, and don't even get me started on the studs. Put studs on anything and I will buy it. Let's talk comfort. I actually got Agata on Monday and although I have not worn them out (it's been raining all week) I did wear them all day inside my house doing things like vacuuming and chasing around a two year old. Don't worry about the fact that I was wearing sweatpants and my husbands hoodie...anyways my feet did not hurt at all. Holla!

On to this bag. I love love love this! Orange is one of my top favorite colors. I even put it on my kitchen walls. I have never purchased a bag from Shoedazzle before this one and I am really satisfied with it. The color is really rich and the hardware and stitching etc. is really sturdy from what I can tell this far. Both of these items will be joining me tomorrow to a bridal shower. I have a dress with both of these colors in it. Yay color blocking!

So far I have ordered 8 pairs of shoes and one bag from Shoedazzle.

Michelada

Here is my recipe for a michelada aka my favorite drink right now:
Clamato juice
Corona
Worcestershire sauce
Soy sauce
Tapatio
Black pepper
Bloody mary salt
Lemon
Lime

I do not use any exact measurements. I just go by taste. I pour the beer and clamato juice simultaneously and then add a splash or two or more of everything else. Dont forget to cut the lime and rub it over the rim of your glass and dip it into the bloody mary salt before you start mixing! I squeeze both lemon and lime juice into my michelada and use lime wedges as garnish too.
Happy drinking!!

A change of venue.
